How Do You Get an Esthetician License?
To get an esthetician license, you must pass a state licensing exam. Simply completing your coursework at school and graduating is not enough. Many other professionals who graduate with a degree in their field must also go on to pass an exam in order to practice, including doctors, nurses, lawyers and social workers.
Theoretically, if you could pass the exam without doing the coursework, you could still become licensed. But in practice, most states require a certain number of hours of training in order to work as an esthetician.
