If you live in Lehi and have been considering getting your esthetician license, Skin Science Institute is the esthetician school for you! We operate four esthetician programs to help our students achieve their dreams of become an esthetician. Our graduates work in medical settings, perform spa treatments and even set up their own businesses. Read on to find out how you can do the same.

Esthetician License

To get your esthetician license in Utah, you must start by enrolling in an accredited esthetician program such as the one at Skin Science Institute. Licensing programs are 600 hours of classwork and hands-on training in skin care, hair removal and lash extensions classes, among many others.

Once students complete this coursework, they must pass a state exam to receive their esthetician licenses. Then they are certified to work as estheticians anywhere in the state of Utah.

Master Esthetician Programs

Some estheticians seek to further their learning and their careers by becoming master estheticians. Master estheticians can perform advanced procedures such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels and laser skin resurfacing. As a master esthetician, your wide breadth of skills will make you a more valuable employee.

To get your master esthetician license, you must take another 600 hours of classwork and hands-on training. Next, you need to pass the state licensing exam. Once you receive your license, you are officially cleared to work as a master esthetician.

Those new to the field may take the basic and master esthetician courses consecutively, for a total of 1,200 hours of instruction.

Instructor Internship

Many master estheticians enjoy becoming instructors and teaching others to become licensed estheticians. If you are interested in this, look into our instructor internship program. This program is 300 hours and prepares you for the state exam for esthetician instructors. Once you pass the test and receive your license, you may work as an esthetician teacher.

Working as an Esthetician in Lehi

Our graduates are interested in working as estheticians in different types of settings. For instance, many estheticians look for work in medical offices, such as a dermatologist’s or plastic surgeon’s office. They enjoy the clinical aspects of this type of work.

Others are more interested in working at a high-end spa that offers esthetician services such as facials and eyelash extensions and perms. Northern and southwestern Utah are home to many luxury spas in need of estheticians.

Student Spa Serving Lehi

Our esthetician school operates student spas at both our Orem and Sandy locations. Here, students get to use the skills they learned in lash extensions classes, skin care coursework and more. Students work under the close supervision of licensed master esthetician instructors, providing spa treatments to the general public at a discount.
