Being an esthetician is a rewarding career — there’s no doubt about it. At

Working as an Esthetician in SLC
When you get your esthetician license, you not only want to find a job — you want to be busy. It’s a given that there are more job opportunities in cities than suburbs, and more jobs in suburbs than rural areas. That’s simply a matter of math — more people = more customers.
But the esthetician industry is specialized. Estheticians only serve clients who are interested in and willing to spend money on skin care services such as facials, microneedling and
lash extensions. These are people who want to look better and who have the disposable income to pay for it.
One way to gauge which cities have more residents with money and an interest in looking beautiful is how many plastic surgeons they have there per capita. Recently, Salt Lake City came in fifth in the U.S. in this ranking. Salt Lake City and its suburbs are some of the richest towns in Utah, but don’t forget about Park City, Heber City and Summit Park.

Why Salt Lake City?
Some reports say that “mommy makeovers” are popular in Salt Lake City, which has a higher birthrate than the rest of the U.S. Estheticians can extrapolate to conclude that these same women will be interested in refreshing facials, Botox injections, exfoliating scrubs,
eyelash extensions, professional makeup application and other treatments to make them look and feel younger and more beautiful.
At Skin Science Institute, our students take eyelash extensions classes, skin care classes and classes on tool sterilization techniques. We teach them everything they need to know to work as successful estheticians in Utah.
Our esthetician school runs two campuses — one in Sandy and one in Orem. We serve students from Salt Lake City, South Jordan, West Valley City and Provo. At our Orem campus, we operate a
student spa where we offer spa treatments at a discount to area residents. Here, students can get the practical, hands-on experience they need to be good estheticians. All treatments are performed under the close supervision of licensed esthetician instructors.
